Warlocks do it thru their Succubus’ Seduce spell.  Sure there are macros out there like this one from DrainingSouls.net.  Only switch I did was removed the /stopcasting line, like this:

#show Seduction
/clearfocus [modifier:alt]
/focus [target=focus,noexists]; [target=focus,dead]
/clearfocus [target=focus,help]
/cast [pet:succubus,target=focus,exists,harm] Seduction; Seduction

Seduction only lasts for up to 15 seconds, it’s not a guaranteed 15 second of CC every time.  It has the chance of breaking early when you least expect it to as well.  What you will notice is that if the target breaks out of Seduction.  The mob will either do two things: One, shoot straight for the healer due to healing aggro proceding to 1-shot him/her or cause the healer to waste their precious GCD.  Two, shoot straight for your Succubus and usually 1-shotting her in the process then scurry off to give the healer the same lovin.

Do you want to learn the best, the most sure-fire way to stop both from ever happening again?  Okay I’ll let you in on my little secret.  Two words….Searing Pain.  You’re either thinking wtF u is stupid or why didn’t I think of that!  In addtion to your preffered seduce macro you have to time your Searing Pain to hit the target just before your Succubus can cast off Seduction.  It takes a couple of tries but you’ll get it down in no time flat.  Plus because of casting Searing Pain I had to remove the /stopcasting line because it interferes in being able to cast Searing Pain.  Oh yeah don’t go overzealous with Searing Pain.  Just cast it once and that’s all you need to keep it’s attention.

It gets even better if you are spec’d to have your Succubus instant cast Seduction in addition to giving mana back to your Succubus through Mana Feed.  I’m not saying that you need to spec into these two talents for this to work, they are just optional.  You can still get the job done with out those two but there will be down time because your Succubus needs to regain her mana.  I wonder if resummoning her back out if she will get a full mana bar in exchange for a Soul Shard?

Oh yeah by the way.  Now that you’ve really gotten the attention of that target.  Might I suggest that you keep some distance from them.  Don’t forget to remind your tank to taunt that target off you as well if possible.

I just recently noticed that I didn’t have the crucial key words that every tank knows and every up and coming tank needs to know:  Aggro and Threat.

The diagram below shows what I believe how a new tank or anyone who isn’t too familiar with tanking might view it, more or less.  Lets all focus on just the word Tanking.  Everyone including newbies have an idea of what Tanking is.  I’m sure they are aware of the other topics surrounding Tanking as well.  But the key thing, is that they don’t know how to piece it all together to get a clear picture.

This diagram below is a view that veterans like myself and many other tanks have developed over the course of their tanking tenure, more or less.  What was a mess in the image above is now neatly organized.

Do note these tanking diagrams will be a work in progress.  Yes the topics in the Tanking Diagram is short and brief and that is how I intended it to be.  My rule on the diagram was to find topics that were fundamental to all tanking classes.

Tanking for a while.  Actually a good number of days of thinking and coming up with how to show potential or a work in progress tank a general and good, solid tanking foundation.  Then it took a good number of days to fight procrastination to put that info into this post today.  I had to come up with a way to cram all the stuff I’ve been writing and thinking about into a friendly format.  And I have in the form of a diagram or like one of those brain storming diagrams whatever those are called.  Enjoy the diagram and more info soon to come.

Bee's Simple Tanking Diagram

So you decided to take up tanking?  That’s great, welcome aboard.  So you might be asking yourself “Where do I begin?”  Ah good question.  That’s what my post is all about.  Knowledge is Awareness.  Awareness is knowledge.  The more of it you have the better off you’ll be tanking.  Gearing is the first thing you should get accustomed too.  No need for me to re-invent the wheel, so here are some links I’ve provided to help you on your way to properly gear up.  Credit and thanks go to the originators of the content.
